What is the difference between SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) vs. FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D print methods?

The baseplates we offer are SLS 3D printed out of Nylon 12 to be very durable and impact resistant. A drop test video can be found here: DURABILITY DROP TEST - MC9 Baseplate. The sleeves we offer are constructed using FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) out of Polylite PLA PRO. This allows a very dimensionally accurate and durable part at a lower price than SLS printing. These are not as durable as our baseplates, but have a better chance of surviving harsh impacts because the sleeve is able to slide up and down the magazine body, absorbing impact forces. What material are the sleeves made out of?

The MC9 and MC9L/LS sleeves we make are printed out of Polymaker PLA PRO filament. This is an economical and durable material that produces excellent looking prints. For more information, please see the material specifications here: PolyLite PLA Pro Technical Data Sheet - Rev1Tech
